Lark in the Park
HD1 Studios is Co sponsoring this years Lark in the Park which returns to Greenhead Park, this year promises to be a fun-filled weekend, with a great line-up of bands, from Saturday 19 August, 1.00pm until 8.00pm to Sunday 20 August, from 2.00pm to 9.00pm.
On the Saturday, warming up the crowd the first band 'Pinstripe' who will play from 3.45pm until 4.30pm.
Following on from them will be three piece band 'Northern Beats' from 4.45pm until 5.30pm. Joining the line-up at 5.45pm until 6.30pm will be 'The Nu Popes' who play a mixture of Jazz Funk, Blues and Boogaloo laced with Latin, Dub, Psychedelia and Hip Hop.
Finishing off on the Saturday evening will be 'U2 Tribute Band' from 6.45pm until 7.45pm.
On the Sunday 'New Vinyl' will play from 3.30pm until 4.00pm.
and at 4.15pm to 5.00pm 'Modliste'
Following on at 5.30pm until 6.15pm 'The Eves' will be performing.
Indie/Pop band 'I.E.' who originate from Halifax take to the stage at 6.45pm until 7.30pm.
Leading up to the fireworks finale 'Horace X' will play from 8.00pm until 9.15pm. Horace X formed in 1993, combining infectious dance rhythms with Eastern European fiddle tunes.

STUDIO ACTIVITY

Leeds band Printed Sound who have just signed a deal with Red Alert Management on the strength of their first demo recorded at HD1, were back again to record an EP which is going to be released on the Fierce Panda label. Dave Creffield, (Embrace, Kaiser Cheifs) who is producing the band, believes they have what it takes to go on and make an impact within the industry
The Cut yet another HD1 regular has were in recently to record their latest EP titled “Walking Lonely Streets” which is out now.
Milloy from Wakefield were in the studio again, recording their 3rd album. The band has been using the studios since 1999, and it was great to see them back
Fill The Void from Manchester Came over to HD1 to record their first demo and were extremely impressed with the results. Mikey their lead singer had this to say:-
"The session was amazing, were so happy with everything!! The engineer, the equipment, the quality......just everything!! Thank so much"
In the studio at the moment are Leeds-based band Immune who have booked time to record an album. The band scoured the region looking at numerous studios for the right place to record, and eventually decided on us. Early indications are very impressive!

The BBC has recently booked the studio to record a track by “The Cherie Gears Jazz Quintet” which will appear on BBC’s Songs Of Praise. The band has been receiving a lot of interest after winning the Outstanding Performance Category at The National Music for Youth Awards, which was held at the Royal Albert Hall. They have since gone on to perform at Rowen Atkinson 50th Birthday party, ITV’s The South Bank Show, NEC Birmingham, Queen Elizabeth Hall London and the BBC and seem to be going from strength to strength.
The legendary metal producer David Chang has been recording at HD1 with Test Switch Isolator from Huddersfield andChemical Kaos from London.
If I Were King (Ex Jacasta Project) from Halifax was in to record with their new line up after previously recording in Parr Studio’s in Liverpool. They are getting huge media interest after recently being played on Radio1.
"Shoot The Sun”, a production company from Luton. Havebeen using the studio to produce the band “I Am The Door” from Luton.
Huddersfield MC Spida Lee (Practical Headz) has been producing material for a forthcoming release on Rubicon Records. The video is already in production.
Huddersfield bands Serotonin, Seven Acres, Penknife lovelife, Ridgevex, Smooth and Icarus as well as Leeds bands Juma and Printed Sound have all recently finished recording projects at HD1.
