The Black Bloc formed in the autumn of 2006 and spent the following
10 months locked in their rehearsal room, endlessly jamming and creating
brand new material. "We wanted to get all the songs together before starting
to gig and were saving all the money we could during this period with the
aim of recording our debut album in the summer, HD1 studios was the only
choice for us, asmost of the band had recorded there when we were
younger and have always had great results"

The band then spent most of July 2007 in HD1 Studios with producer
Steve Whitfield to record their self-titled debut. "We are all really impressed
with the quality of the recording and Steve really managed to bring out or
massive live sound on record.The studio has lots of excellent equipment
and a really relaxed atmosphere." The Bands debut album
is currently been pressed and is due for release in January 2008.

Steve Whitfield
The Black Bloc provides compelling socially critical music accessible
through the bands keen ear for rhythm and melody. With strong assertive
vocals laid down over tight hip-hop grooves, surrounded by powerful and
atmospheric guitar work, the band really rejuvenates the
traditional bass, drums, guitar, and vocals format to great effect.
Michael Bush Vocals
Influenced by a myriad of artists and musicians, The Black Bloc’s unique
sound resists any straightforward classification. But those people
intrigued by the a concoction of leftfield, trip-hop and psychedelic
rock will not be disappointed. The Black Bloc is currently undertaking
heavy local gigging and are building up a strong following, theband
has already given The Hebden Bridge Trades Club it's busiest
night of 2007. The Black Bloc are currently booking a UK tour for 2008.
Ady Hoyle Drums
The Black Bloc is currently undertaking a heavy local gigging schedule
and have been using 3 tracks from the album to get gigs and reviews
around the north of England. The band are already building up a strong
following and have already given The Hebden Bridge Trades Club
it's busiest night of 2007 selling out the prestigious venue on there
debut performance and were immediately rebooked for the
New Years Eve slot.
Studio Drums
The Black Bloc are currently sending off
3 track discs to book a UK tour for 2008 and will be on the road from
February. Things have been going well for The Black Bloc
on MySpace as well where they have had 7000 plays in just 4 months.
