Allegro Fall originally formed from members of previous bands such as Twisteye, Crush and Death By Monkey and in October 2005 John and Mike met a guitarist called Chris and got together for a jam. Then with the addition of Doug the line-up was complete in January 2006 where we found ourselves recording our self-titled demo EP using our trusty PC and four microphones.

After a number of gigs we all decided to start working towards a studio EP for around April 2007 however in February 2007 Chris departed ways so we had to continue without him whilst we kept a look out for a replacement. Then in April 2007 we headed into HD1 Studios and recorded a four track EP called "They Burn Tonight" with Sound Engineer/Producer Steve Whitfield.
Soon after we placed an advert online and guitarist Rob Triffet from the band Glorybox contacted us regarding a replacement for Chris. We meet Rob for a few drinks in early May 2007 and organised an audition for the next rehearsal and low and behold he fitted straight in. We auditioned many before Rob came along but none of them had what we were looking for whereas Rob did.
As soon as Rob joined gig offers were starting to get offered left right and centre however we kept on having to turn them down as Doug had other plans, then out of the blue Doug announced his departure due to personal reasons and couldn’t commit to a life making music. Since then we have been auditioning for a replacement for Doug however we are currently gigging round Yorkshire as a three piece rocking every stage we play on!

When we (ALLEGRO FALL) recorded at HD1 Studios we knew we were in the right place. Not only did we come out with an absolute brilliant produced EP, we also had a very memorable experience. Since playing in many bands we have been in many studios before however none have been as professional as HD1 Studios. The first time we recorded at HD1 studios was when John and myself (Mike) were 17 in a band called REDEMPTION in 1999.
Being from Scotland originally and having recently moved to the Huddersfield area we wanted somewhere where we knew we were going to come out with a brilliant sounding CD. When we recorded REDEMPTION with Steve Whitfield we ended up with interest from Music For Nations. However, John and I ended up going to University and decided to form a band called TWISTEYE. Twisteye was formed from the REDEMPTION line-up but with a few changes, Paul Fortescue our guitarist became the singer/frontman and we found a different guitarist by the name of Martin Bartholomew (Jak).

Due to recording at HD1 previously in Redemption, three of us knew that it was best to record a CD at HD1 again and once again with the assistance of Steve we came out with another stonker of a CD. We ended up playing gigs with signed bands such as thisGIRL, B-Movie Heroes, Engerica, and on one occasion we were offered the chance to support Funeral For a Friend and Sikth however the promotion company in charge of sorting it out had a disagreement and we ended up parting ways.

After 2 years, many gigs and promoting of the first Twisteye CD we decided it was time to go back into the studio to record a 5-track EP and low and behold we wanted to use HD1 Studios again but this time we got Dave Creffield to do the job. Again we came out with a really good CD and ended up getting interest from Visible Noise records (Lostprophets label) however shortly afterwards Paul announced he was moving away to Taunton resulting in the end of Twisteye.

A year later we formed Allegro Fall in 2005 and after recording a rough demo and many gigs we decided it was time to record a kick ass CD better than our previous bands so we ended up contacting HD1 to book some time in the studio with Steve for April 2007. This time however it felt even more comfortable using HD1 than before as we have used the studio and its services since 1999. As we have worked with Steve twice before we knew exactly how each other worked and it has got to be the most plain sailing recording we’ve done. No problems occurred or anything as from the minute we turned up we knew we were going to come out with probably the best recording we’ve done yet and low and behold we did.
The CD title “ALLEGRO FALL – They Burn Tonight” is thee best recording we’ve ever done. The kit sounds exactly the way we always dreamt the kit to sound and the best part is the volume doesn’t drop when comparing it to other bands albums. Working with Steve and HD1 studios was and will always be a great experience from start to finish every time we use their services, as not only do you feel you are working with professionals who know exactly what they are doing you also feel professional yourself.
